Brain Chain was conceived in 2002 on
a flight from Los Angeles, California to Dallas, Texas. We
were playing a popular trivia game and became frustrated with
the difficulty of the questions. Even when one player was able
to answer several questions in a row, that player was no closer
to winning unless he or she happened to be on the correct game
board square. Meanwhile, the other player was bored to tears.
We realized that the board set-up was just a fancy way of keeping
score. An easy question from a difficult category or a lucky
roll of the dice often decided the outcome.
In talking to many trivia fans, we realized that our frustrations
were not unique. We decided that infusing strategy into a trivia-style
board game could remedy these frustrations. While knowledge
is important, we felt that strategy should be crucial to gaining
ultimate victory.
Brain Chain features strategy, easier questions and each correct
answer moves a player closer to victory. The game design provides
for constant interaction between the players and keeps everyone,
adults and kids alike, engaged and laughing until the very
end. We hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed
creating it.
Good luck and good knowledge!
